Ben & Jerry's Vermonster. Would anybody be interested in tackling one of these badboys with me? If we had about half a dozen people, we could probably do this without too much pain. Just something I'm thinking about, so there's no set date at this time. But if you're interested, if you're man or woman enough let me know.

Info from wikipedia.com:

A Vermonster is a large ice cream sundae made by Ben and Jerry's.[1] It is named after the company headquarter's home state of Vermont. The Vermonster consists of the standard sundae ingredients, but uses them in excessive amounts. It contains:

* Twenty scoops of ice cream, frozen yougurt, or sorbet
* Four ladles of hot fudge
* Four bananas
* Ten scoops of chopped walnuts
* One Fudge brownie
* Three Cookies
* Two scoops each of four different toppings
* Whipped cream

The sundae is usually served in a commemorative plastic bucket.

The bucket tends to weigh anywhere from 4 to 9 pounds.

The entire Vermonster costs $28 ($39.99 in California and Texas, $32 in Virginia).

The current known record for quickest consumption of a vermonster was in 9 minutes, by Branon Brown at a Ben and Jerry's in Gainesville Florida.

Aren't you gonna go for the record? Run another 28 miles on the track, and I bet you could do it!

I bet you guys could break the record.

When i was younger, my family and I went to this place in San Francisco while we were on vacation and ate something called the earthquake which is pretty similar to this thing offered by Ben and Jerry's and it took us like an hour to eat with 5 of us.

Dude, that monster is very much akin to the Ziggy Pig, in which Napoleon managed to eat all by himself in Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure....

I'm up for it. At Disney we have the "kitchen sink" which is 8 scoops of ice cream and every topping they have at the ice cream shop. My roommates (two other skinny SKINNY girls) and I downed it in something like 30 minutes which freaked the whole staff out and caused them to take pictures and all. It sounds like good training for this.

PS the best part of the kitchen sink was that it was served in a kitchen sink!

Ok so four people so far would consider tackling this. Anybody else?

I could do some serious damage on this.

My only concern on this is if there are TOO many people there won't be enough to go around!

Then again we could always double down...

Ok, so that's five people that would do this. One more person and we could totally do this without too much effort. Who would being the last person? Who's gonna step up? How about another one from the female ranks?

I still can't believe you need multiple people to do this!?! It sounds like Diep wants a shot at taking one on solo. How about a timed eating event - Diep vs. the rest of you?

I could eat half of one no problem at all.

I think I could finish the whole thing if I HAD to tongue.gif

But a timed consumption of the whole thing would not be pretty... ohmy.gif

But 6 people is a good number, especially if you want to head straight out for an easy run afterward!

I was thinking it would taste better after a run?! I can't imagine going out for one with all that dairy sloshing around in my stomach. Where is the green-faced smiley?

I was looking for that too, I guess you can only use it as an icon next to your post, not in it.
