I know this club is very active and more likely to be participating than spectating, but I can't believe how many major sporting events were going on simultaneously this weekend (some continuing this week and beyond):

The World Cup
The NBA Finals
The Stanley Cup Finals
The French Open
The Belmont

There was even a Nascar race for Cougarbait, and the Arena Bowl (if you consider that a legitimate sport - not sure I do).

My pick for the World Cup final: Trinidad & Tobago vs. Serbia & Montenegro (or would that still be the semi-finals huh.gif grin.png ).

Uh, Joe...wasn't there another little known sport that is close to OUR hearts? It was called the NCAA Track & Field Championships. I think you've heard of it. U of O athletes Tommy Skipper and Rebekah Noble(800m) dominated but Matt Scherer(400m)disappointed. Also, the NCAA College World Series is about to start. OSU swept their bracket.

Good job Rick! Did you google it?

Yup, my alma mater has hosted the CWS for more than 50 years! And we haven't been IN the CWS since '91! Go Bluejays!

Well, we already have an Eritrean and Somalian, and possibly a Morrocan on our track team, so we're not far off! Maybe if we were like Qatar and offered big money to the Kenyans, we could sweep the next Olympics... cool.gif

Nope, I thought, "who the heck is in Omaha?" and I could only come up with one answer. There's probably a branch campus of the University of Nebraska there, too, but it's probalby a communter school (if it exists at all).

The is no communter school in Omaha. What is a communter school anyway, it kinda sounds fun!

There is UNO-branch of the state system, and UNMC (med center) and then a nursing school.

Rosenblatt is awesome. When you watch this year, look for the zoo's famous "Desert Dome" behind left field.

That's a commuter school. You commmute to it, not learn to commute. In theory, anyway. Such schools don't tend to be big on sports, since everyone goes home when they don't have classes. Also, lots of part-time students, with jobs.
