Special Olympics 2022 - July 30
It's springtime! And you know what that means....
Come outside and volunteer with Team Red Lizard at this year's Special Olympics regional track meet - Clackamas High School Track, 14486 SE 122nd Ave, Clackamas, OR 97015, Saturday July 30, 9am - 5pm.
After a 3 year hiatus due to funding issues and COVID, we are back. As a reminder, This is the largest SOOR regional track meet in Oregon and TRL's 17th year partnering and coordinating with Special Olympics Oregon (SOOR). It has attracted up to 350 athletes in the past and is the stepping stone to State, National, and World Championships. A big deal indeed for all of the athletes, coaches and parents
We have many positions to fill (see list below) so the call goes out to all. There are both half day and full day slots available. You can select from the roles listed below if you have a specific interest, or I can assign you based on areas of greatest need. When you sign up you will be given complete and simple instructions. You also will be given a SO volunteer shirt and, if a full day volunteer, a complimentary lunch.
Whether former TRL member, friends and family of members or someone you know wishing to help, you are all welcome! This is also very much a family friendly endeavor. so if you have kids and would like to involve them, just let me know. We can accommodate you.
Also, this event is a qualifier for Community Service credit for area high school and college students.
This is a truly inspiring volunteer experience. Bring yourself, your smile and your willingness to help SOOR athletes have fun in reaching their goals to compete and win!
