Since the Girls Gift Exchange is taking over the Lindbo household, I'm going to host the Lizard Lads Holiday Beverage Tasting.

I know last year we did a beer tasting but since not everyone enjoys beer, this year we are opening it up to any holiday beverage - beer, whiskey, eggnog, wassail (whatever that is exactly, I've never been completely sure), soda, hot chocolate, gingerbread latte. If you want to bring your favorite glacier spring water even that is okay as long as you bring enough to share. Just come by and hang out. We'll have prizes for best beer, best other alcoholic beverage and best non-alcoholic beverage.

Date: Dec 10th

Time: 1-4pm

Where: The Wusirika household: 5923 Southwest Southview Place

I'll cook up a pot of chili but any other food would be welcome.

As with last year just so we don't end up with a dozen bottles of Jubeale, post below what you plan to bring and I'll update this post intermittently.

Sorry to miss this, as I'll be basking on a beach in Waikiki. But the good news is that one of you will win Best Beer this year, since I swept the awards last year.  :super:

I'm in.  I'll have to give it some thought on what to bring.  Not a hop guy so it will be something at the malty end of the scale.

Thanks for hosting, Raghav!  I am so looking forward to this.  Really struggling with whether to bring some fruit juice, tea, or beer... ;)

You can expect to see me there too.

Myra offered to make a kale/brussel sprout smoothie for me to take - I doubt that will happen though.

I heard the Girls Gift Exchange was running low on kale/brussel sprout smoothies so maybe she should take that to their party

I think the issue is that Markiemo likes it so much that it won't make it out of the house  ;-)

We'll be making an extra large batch just for the occasion.

I'll be bringing a growler Jerry.  ;-)

I will be there as well, but will want to give some thought to what to bring.

I'm basking on the beach in Maui right now, returning just in time for the B-Liz(z)ard Brodogs Beverage Blowout.  Actually I'm not on the beach.  It's been pouring rain all day, but at least it's 80.

I'm not sure what I'll bring, but you can bet your bottom dollar it will be both potent and potable.  Maybe something from Hawaii?  Probably not, as I'd then have to check a bag...and then it becomes some pretty expensive beer and definitely not worthwhile.  That Maui Brewing Imperial Coconut Porter is pretty good, though.  I'm going to try hard to find some Hardywood Park holiday stouts, though I think that'll be nearly impossible on the west coast.  The Bourbon Barrel Gingerbread Stout is absurdly good.  The regular, non-barrel'd Gingerbread Stout and Christmas Morning are also pretty amazing.  If anybody finds some of this stuff, buy it and you will be a hero.  Or just bring some iced tea, or maybe some cucumber ice water.

Ben gave out some solid recommendations for potential winners... I still haven't figured out what I will be bringing, but like most, I will be aiming to bring the best.  Once people do figure out what they are bringing, they should post here so that we don't end up with multiple people bringing the same thing.  It's hard to crown a winner if 5 people brought the same beer... ;)

Could Tough Love from Crux Brewing out of Bend be a repeat winner? We shall see...

Well, it looks like I'm out.  I'm sorry to miss it, but work requires that I stay a few days longer on Maui.  Tim, look me up if you're going to stop over on Maui before next Wednesday.

As for the Beer/tea-fest 2016, look for Hardywood GBS.  You will win.
