39 year old Female with some miles under her belt. I just ran a marathon and going to try and keep up the miles in case a spot opens.
I run about a 9:30-10:30 pace.

I need to find a team.
This will be my 10th HTC. I'm willing to run any set of legs.
I'm 38, female, and in relatively decent shape (8:30-ish for most of my training these days).

I'm running with a purely recreational team, Rapid Thigh Movement. My kids are both running on this team led by my next door neighbor. They lost one of their male runners and I got volunteered. All good.

Okay, It's a month out and nothing is broken so I guess it's time to put my feelers out for a team. I'm 28, up for any leg, probably good for about a 40 minute 10K and like to think I'd make for good company cooped up in a van.

I have found myself a team. I'm running Leg One on a fast-ish team of Nike colleagues. It's inspired me to pick up my pace, which is more fun than I expected it to be. I've even made a couple of forays, alone and under cover of darkness, to the [gulp] TRACK.
Maryalicia, if memory serves you want to budget around $150 for this race. I don't think I've ever paid more than that. The amount varies depending on whether the team has a sponsor of any kind, whether team members are using personal vehicles rather than renting vans, whether the team has opted to get custom shirts or other apparel, whether a beach house rental is factored in, etc.
Some years, when I've waited until the last minute and found a team on Craigslist, they've been so grateful for an able-bodied sub that I've not been asked to pay anything.
As they say on the interwebs, your mileage may vary.

Thanks Clover. I am alternate on two National Guard teams and have an offer of $325 for another . Don't have the money for the $325 
so hoping I will get a grateful team!
