Enough about the aid station and BBQ, who's actually racing this thing? :pirate:

I'm signed up for the half, and I know Torrey is ducking me by running the 5k :poke:

Who else is in?

I am totally ducking Joe in the half... the trail half last weekend was a stretch, but a half on the roads... I would be a fool to waste my money trying to break 1:30.

I imagine that after making easy work of me in the 5k, Hari will finally be ready to lay down some goals that might be a little more challenging for him. I was hoping everyone would be focused on teh Summer Series race and I could duck everyone in the 5k ;)

For those of us racing who signed up too late for the shuttle buses, any interest in meeting somewhere off-island to carpool?

The half starts at 6:45, the 5k at 6:55, so make sure to set your alarms --->   :frantics:

I'm impressed by the large number of Lizards who have avoided peer pressure and are running the 5k

For the women I've cited, it's the quest for magic numbers. And last year's distance issues may have a lot of people uncertain about the half. I bet the enthusiasm perks back up next year if there's no issue this time.

I won a 5k entry, so it seemed wasteful for me not to use it ;)

While that's true, I'm ok with admitting that I don't think I could finish the 1/2 without doing some walking... :homestar:

Who wants to get a singlet that doesn't have one? I can bring them one the morning of the race.

Just took my new singlet out for a spin this morning on a long run to make sure there were no issues before Wednesday. My review? They rock!

Well, I said I would boycott after the accuracy problem last year, but due to the dearth of other races this time of year with the depth of competition on fast courses, I'm in for the half. Though I often wear NAC these days, I'm still a devoted lizard on the inside.

Word from the organizers is the out & back will not be going straight toward the fire station, but rather directly right on Reeder Rd when you get to that T-intersection, then the out & back will be on Charlton Rd (not much further down Reeder, and on the right). Although they assured me it would be re-measured and certification paperwork submitted, the state of OR course certifier (Lee Barrett) told me via email 2 days ago that he has not yet received anything. He'd spoken with Jon of AA Sports (the measurer) a few weeks ago and Jon promised to turn in the paperwork that week. Lee is going to call Sean on Monday to follow up further if he still hadn't gotten anything from Jon.

Paperwork or not, let's just hope Jon calibrated his bike correctly when he Jones-counted this new course.
