AND NOW FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT!

Okay, listen up everyone. I have my last long run this Sunday, in preparation for my upcoming June 9th marathon. I will be running 22 miles.

And I'm going to be doing things a bit differently than normal on Sundays, but you are all invited along if you're interested. Here's my plan:

7:15am - start from the usual SBUX on NW 23rd & Overton and run TWO MILES, returning to the SBUX at 7:30am

7:30am - run from the SBUX to the start of the RNR Half Marathon, which is about 2 miles away

8:00am - jump in and run the RNR Half Marathon course from the start line to where you come back off the Steel Bridge (12 mile mark)

x:xxam - at this point I'll have gotten in ~16 miles, so I'll add on the extra six miles somewhere as I work my way back to the SBUX.

If you were to start with me from the SBUX at 7:30am and head straight back to the SBUX from the Steel Bridge, you'd get ~15 miles total as best I can figure.

SO, WHO'S IN FOR THIS PLAN? If you are, be at the SBUX at 7:30am, ready to go.

Please post your intentions here. Thanks!

Wow Tim, that sounds like fun. Too bad I won't be there this Sunday morning to join the fun Posted Image However, if anyone is interested in running in the afternoon on Sunday... say 6pm leaving from SBUX going 12miles let me know.

I'll likely be in Eugene, but any advice on where to run there would be awesome.

I hate to miss your last long run but I'm running knee deep in cornfields in IL and sampling rye. Hope to be back next week!

Depends where in Eugene you will be. Pre's Trails, Amazon/Rexius loop, Hendrick's Park and the paved bike paths on either side of the river are all good options.

I have a stupid work meeting at 8am. I'll try and depart from my house around 8:45, make my way to the steel bridge and upstream towards you. Should be able to run the last 6 with you.

Traffic is going to be crazy with some road closures too. OMG the Rock 'N Roll Convention was crazy. More people running this half than the full Portland Marathon.

Hari,

Please be on time. I'm rolling through SBUX @ 7:30am and do not plan on stopping to wait around...

6pm, how civilized. :-) I'm interested. If you or anyone else is game, post here and I'll meet you at SBUX at 6pm.
I could dig deeper..., but then I'd be further in a hole.

Tim, there are a few pictures of you and Hari running up Hawthorne next to the runners on FB. I think Brian H took them?
Have to say, the race was very well put together and no trains. Pretty hard course though. Loved running through the neighborhoods and there was a ton of community support.

It looked like they had some very official "Men In Black" type vehicles at the railroad crossings, so maybe they were serious about no trains!

Lots of spectators, which was nice.

I passed Tim and Hari early on near OMSI, and said "Are we there yet?" Then I saw Hari, Tim, and Christophe heading toward the finish and yelled "Bandits!" It would have been funnier if they had seen who said it  Sorry!

I also saw Christophe near the 12 Mile mark near Grand.

The support was great! Thanks for being out there
