Once again we will be fielding a co-ed indoor soccer team this winter, made up of Lizards and friends. I'm sending in the registration form today. We will be in Div. 3 on Thursday nights this time, as we were often a little, uh... overmatched in Div. 2 Our first game will be January 12th.

Although we have a good roster forming already, anyone is welcome and we can always use some new recruits, especially women, since we need two females on the field at all times. (We currently have three, one of whom can't make any games before 8:00pm, and two "maybes").

I will post the game times here as soon as they become available.

Excellent! Here are the possible game times:

6:00pm 6:50pm 7:40pm 8:30pm 9:20pm 10:10pm 11:00pm

They try to distribute the times evenly to all the teams, so you'd probably only have to miss a couple games.

It will depend on how many players we end up having, but it will be between $50-$70. The more players, the lower the cost per player. (The total per team is $610).

Should be a lot of fun!

OK, I got a call from the MJCC soccer woman. It turns out the Thursday league is actually Div. 2. There was a typo on their website.

So... I switched us to Wednesday nights, which is the real Div. 3 night.

But... She said they didn't get enough women's teams for Tuesday nights, so they may open up a Div. 3 co-ed league on Tuesdays, and I told her that would be our preference, since Wednesday conflicts with the Fulton Run, trivia, etc. Of course, Tuesday would conflict with track To quote the Eagles, Are you with me so far?

So, we will definitely be in Div. 3 for closer, more competitive games, but it could be Tuesday or Wednesday nights.

Our first game will be next week! Either Tuesday the 10th, or Wednesday the 11th, depending on whether they have a Tuesday Div. 3 league. I'm anxiously awaiting the schedule, so I can post the game time. I'll post it here and on Facebook

I'm really looking forward to it. We should have a great roster this time!

Figuring on a core roster of around 15, and factoring in the $8/game ref fee, $45 per player seems about right ($674/15).

The schedule has been posted! Here's the link: Coed Div. 3 schedule

Note that the schedule is split between Tuesday and Wednesday nights. The good news is, that means we'll have fewer late games; the bad news is, we'll have fewer games after 7:30/8:00 for Jacob and Marianne. But hopefully, they can still make the second half of some of the earlier ones.

Our first game is Tuesday, January 10th, at 7:20 p.m. Wear RED shirts.

If possible, please try to arrive at least a few minutes early to warm up (and keep your captain from panicking)

I will bring copies of the waiver for everyone to fill out and sign, as well as blank player cards to sign (we won't need to pay the usual $10 player fee)

For every game, bring shin guards, socks large enough to cover the shin guards, and supportive shoes (you don't need indoor soccer shoes necessarily, but most regular running shoes are not supportive enough for lateral motion, so some kind of sturdier shoes like basketball or tennis shoes are recommended).
