Planning to run 10-12 miles Sunday morning. I need to start by 7:30am at the latest. Pace should be 7:15-7:30ish. Starting in NW Portland would work best for me, but I could be flexible. Let me know if anyone is interested.

Yup, that works for me. I need 20 so I'll add more afterward.

Sounds good. Do you want me to come up with a route or do you want to?

I'm suggesting this loop. Slight changes to the route: start from Starbucks and take out the loop in NW to make it a little shorter.

I can't get that link to load. Maybe they're just down tonight. I can't keep up all the way (or at least, shouldn't), but I mighy go out with you, then drop off. If the map will load...

Rick,
I just clicked on the link this morning and it worked. Maybe it was down last night. If you still can't open it I can write out the route for you. Basically it starts at Starbucks, goes over the Hawthorne bridge, around the NE Ladd's and Laurelhurst area, back over the Steel bridge, and back to Starbucks. If you can't open the link I'll write a more detailed description this evening. It should be close to 12 miles.

It works now. After I posted last night, I discovered that I couldn't access anything on USATF's site, so something was wrong at their end for a few hours. It looks like a nice course. I'll try to run a few miles with you (maybe 3 if I'm lucky) then drop off before I toast myself. I'll also want to short it; I've been doing 10 as my long run (when I do a long run) and that extra 2 miles is a big difference. I might pick it up at the waterfront; that way I get all the good parts. If someone doing this MY pace wants to join me (8:30s after I drop off), maybe they'll read this. Joanna's run is the right pace, but it's going to be mud central.

hey rick,

what time do you think you'll be starting from the waterfront? i haven't been running long lately, and was thinking along the same lines as your post.

Hi Susan -
I'd like to join you on your run tomorrow morning. Are we starting at the Starbucks on 23rd? What's the cross street?
I'm looking forward to it!

I'd like to meet up as well, and I need 15 total. I'm assuming the Starbucks you are talking about is on 23rd and Overtonish?

You're too fast for me! But I've figured I'll have to start at SBX; otherwise, I'll freeze waiting for folks. Maybe I can make it 12; if not, I'll punt (MAX? from Hollywood?). Whatever. I just have to be done by 9:45, one way or another, and that's lots of time.

Thanks to everyone who came out this morning. I hope everyone made it back okay. I'm sorry I couldn't stick around afterwards, I had to get to work.

Thanks Susan, that was fun. I managed to keep going to just over 20, even thought the last few miles were a bit of a death march. sleep.png
