"In Lanes   Disqualification shall be ruled by the Referee when a competitor

In a race run on a curve, steps on or over the lane line to the left (USATF and IAAF)

Not to split hairs, but the rule says STEPS. Plural. I didn't count how many times she stepped on the line, but IF it was only once, then that's not STEPS. Now we have the fact that they did not cone the area correctly. Why didn't they just have a rail there in the first place???

Read it again Tim. The context is "When a competitor steps on or over the lane line". So in this grammatical context "steps" is actually not a plural noun, but a verb tense

(I haven't seen the race, so I don't have an opinion either way on the disqualification).

I hope all you couch potato track fans are planning to come out to Catlin Gabel tonight and actually compete on the track yourselves in the ORRC Mile. Hopefully you're getting inspired to participate rather than just spectate! Last I checked, there were only two people signed up for the sub-6:00 mile, and only a few in the open mile :( It's sad to see such low turnout for a lot of track events recently. (If you're injured, you're excused)

So, Joe, not satisfied enough with hijacking my Sunday SBUX Run thread on FB, you now have to start here? Thanks.

Oh, and it looks like I'm excused. Yay!

There you go funning the grammar Joe.....  "competitor steps on the line = 1 step.  It isn't "competitor step on the line" but it would be "competitors step on the line".

Meanwhile VanNiekerk with a valiant effort didn't have enough left to double.  He's going to need to pump some iron to have the strength to finish the 2nd part of the 200/400 double.  Still, the only guy to run sub 10/20/44....he's awesome.

Ladies get it done in the 400H.  Poor Claye will never get Taylor will he?  He's Alydar and Taylor is Affirmed.

Chepkoech's detour certainly added to the drama.  That last water jump by Coburn was the difference, she must have gained 5 meters there.

Loved this morning's relays.  Spoiler alert, U.S. did not drop the baton or otherwise DQ....they went with very safe passes.  They will need to pass better (as always) to win gold in the 4x100.
