As some of you know, Susan Barth is tackling her first Ironman Triathlon today, in Tempe, AZ. We're down here cheering her on And enjoying the gorgeous weather.

She finished up the 2.4 mile swim in approx. 65 minutes and came through the first loop of the three loop, 112 mile bike course averaging a little faster than 20mph! She's out on the second loop right now.

DJ DeAustria in also competing here. Please give both of them your well-wishes!

I'll update as I can, or you can got to the Ironman Tempe AZ website and track them there?

Congrats to Susan for conquering her first Ironman! She finished in a time of 10:44, which is amazing for a debut. Because of the very spectator friendly nature of the courses, we got to see her twice per bike loop and four times per run loop. Although she was seemingly fighting her own personal demons midway in the marathon, she persevered and came home strong.

On thing's for sure. After witnessing an Ironman, I have absolutely no desire to ever do one!

Way to make the TRL nation proud, Susan & DJ!!!

Nice work, you two!  An impressive fete that I don't have the strength or will to tackle.

Amazing job!  Like others have posted I can't even fathom covering this distance.  Hopefully you two can take a 3 sport training break so we'll see you on the trails this winter :)

Proud of you both!!

Way to go Susan and DJ.

Tim mentioned that she had some problems in the marathon. I looked at her splits and the run was actually her weakest event. But still she was awesome.

I wonder how much lower triathlon total times would be if the run was the second thing and then the bike.

The mind-boggling thing is that the top pro men run between 2:40-2:45 for the marathon AFTER all the other stuff!!!
