On somewhat of a whim, I recently signed up for the Newport Marathon (Hey it worked for Orcas Island didn't it?). Right now, I know that I am going and Steve T. are going. We're trying to decide on accomodations for the weekend. Anyone else doing this marathon that wants to split the costs of accomodations? Steve is hoping we can get several people so we can rent a house for the weekend. I'm hoping that it's just Steve and I so we can get the honeymoon suite at the Embarcadero. console.gif

ANYWAY, is anybody else thinking about doing this race and wanting to split the cost of lodging? Let me know, thx.

A whim, my ass! This is all part of your carefully orchestrated plan for world domination!
Life is short and we have not too much time to gladden the hearts of those who travel the way with us.
Oh, be swift to love. Make haste to be kind.

Notice how Steve objected to the "whim" part, but not the honeymoon part. hug.gif

I'm also doing Newport marathon but don't know if I'm going to stay in the embarcadero, yet, or another hotel.

I'm planning to do this one as well. Not signed up yet but I'd be interested in sharing some space. I am not holding the candle over you two so I hope someone else joins in.

This race normally fills up. So regardless of what your accomodations are, you might want to sign up asap.

We stayed at the Embarcadero last year. Great accomodations, great view, nice to be able to walk to your room after finishing.
We all win together or we all lose together.

Try either 'Right now, I know that Steve T. and I are going'or 'Right now, I know that I am going and Steve T. is going'.

I won't even begin to deal with the rest of your post. rolleyes.gif

You're welcome. smile.png

BTW, I predict 2:48 for you. thumbsup.png

Dude, I write that stuff on the fly - while I'm pretending to be working. ninja.png

As far as your predicted time goes, I appreciate the vote of confidence. I'm treating Newport as a tuner/gauge just to see where I stand. If I do end up PR'ing it would have to be a situation where everything went perfectly according to plan akin to all the planets in the solar system lining up. I still have my sights set on another marathon, very near and dear to my heart, later in the year.

The fair thing, Mr. Nostradamus, is to predict everyone's time.

I know Brew Dad's going to Newport also...but I presume he will be rooming with his family.

Everyone in the entire field?!? shocked.png That's got to be hundreds of runners, most who I don't even know. wacko.gif

I predicted Albert's time as an aside from the grammar issue. Why is it unfair that I did his only?

Because he may feel, unfairly, singled out. Or, Steve T., Mandoman, Brew Dad, etc. may feel, unfairly, left out. Or, I will be left here, unfairly, needing more message board entertainment.

Once again, Presus proves hiS omniscience. I booked Fri and Sat at the Elizabeth Street Inn. Wife and son will be with me.
