This Sunday's SBUX run is hitting the road, in more ways than one. We'll venture out to Sauvie Island again for a tour of pasture land and sweeping vistas. Meet in the mail parking lot, just off the bridge onto the island. Dave Ross will be bringing one of his athletes along, who is prepping for a marathon in a few weeks. That person will be doing a 35km run with a large portion of it at marathon pace (sub-3:00). I'm sure he'd love the help, if you are so inclined. Otherwise, some of us will do the main loop around, which is about 20km (12.4 miles).

Some folks show up early to get extra miles in. If you plan on doing that, please reply with how many extra and your start time.

WHAT: 12 mile run (or you can shorten it if you want)

WHERE: SAUVIE ISLAND THIS WEEK. Park in the big lot just off the bridge on to the island.

WHEN: Sunday, 11/18/18 at 8:30am (start time for the 12-mile run)

ROUTE: This is the 35km route - https://www.mapmyrun...een/2319529423/

The 12-mile route avoids the spur just past the two-mile mark.

PACES: Up front is usually 7:00/mile. I typically run 8:00/mile. Some go closer to 9:00/mile.

Please reply if you'll be coming out this week, if you're adding miles on beforehand, along with what pace you expect to run.

By replying, others will know that if they come out, they'll have someone to run with. Thanks!

Be there I will.  My first Sauvie run, I've always been out of town (or injured) for past jaunts around the island.

I'll be there.  And Tim, if you AVERAGE 8:00/m for 12.4 miles, I'll buy you breakfast! :)  I've been there many times, but I have yet to see where the mail parking lot is :)

Gorgeous weather this morning for a tour around Sauvie Island. And we were treated with the company of an elite female, Betsy Saina, fresh off her 2:24 at the Frankfurt Marathon. Other participants were:

Yew Wee (went 35km in prep for his upcoming marathon)
Dave R
Derek
Jerry
Louis
Raghav
Rohit
me

No wildlife were harmed in the completion of this run. 😁

Also sighted out there were several women from the Rose City TC, prepping for CIM.
