For the 4:25 team (Stacey Lee and Mary Beth Kierstead first half; Colleen Beretta and Charissa Yang second half),

My Suunto Ambit Peak 3 watch data

4:24:53 for our finish time

26.49 miles (but my watch usually reads a tad long and I don't/didn't run tangents)

We felt the mile markers on course were pretty accurate - not more than 10% off if that.

Perfect weather!

3:25 group

Larisa+Peter first half; Larisa+Janne 2nd half:

Watch time/distance, 3:24:22, 26.53 miles

Thanks to Larisa and Peter for a great 1st half, and for Larisa for being a steady powerhouse all the way through. It was so fun and I hope to join the pace team in future years!

We felt the mile markers on course were pretty accurate - not more than 10% off if that.

Perfect weather!

I felt the mile markers were pretty dead on.  I know GPS watches were catching the mile splits slightly before some of the mile markers, but I suspect that was due to the differences between not being able to run "the shortest possible course" method that they would have measured the course using, and the slight difference in using a Jones Counter (tool used to measure courses for USATF certification) versus a GPS watch.  So I will give the marathon team props for not only getting the total distance to be spot on what it should have been, but the got the mile marks all pretty close to where they should have been distributed for people to track their progress along the way.

And while most of us only paced half of the race, so I can't say what it was like running the same route out-back, I did think the scenery of the new course was a little better than the old one.  Not nearly as much out-back through the industrial area, and instead you got to spend more time along the bluff and cross the St Johns Bridge twice.  I'm sure that the course was better for spectators as well, since they would get to see people run past twice - and it was good to still see lots of people out there on a lot of the course.

Hi All- the Mile Markers seemed pretty close for us, maybe off by .05/.1 by the end, but like everyone else, we were taking the wide lines and trying to get our group to run the shortest course possible.

As far as the new course- I didn't mind it but there were some logistical issues that I think they need to address if they are going to stick with the course going forward. Sharing a single lane of the St. Johns bridge made for some tight quarters as we were heading back into town. We had to run pretty tightly two abreast and it was still uncomfortably close. I imagine that as the larger groups were passing each other it must have been really tight. Also, running into the slower half marathoners with 5 miles to go made for a fair amount of dodging and weaving.

I did like the new finish line placement- seemed to make more sense and one less slippery turn to navigate.

We came in at 2:59:47
