Hello,

REI has a free Nordic day at Mt Hood Meadows on MLK Day. They are offering free basic lessons - one hour long on the hour at 10:00am, 11:00am, 12:00pm & 1:00pm. The first three times are already filled, so I signed up for the 1:00pm slot. Of course, we could always go up earlier and ski on our own for a while prior. REI is also offering half-price rental fees for that day too.

So, is anyone interested in joining me for a XC skiing adventure that day? If so, reply here and we can begin working out logistics.

Thanks,

Tim

I'd be up for this.  I suck at slippery surface sports, but it's still fun, and it's about time I dusted off my xc skis.

I found my ski boots, so I guess I have no excuse not to bundle up and fall on my butt tomorrow  :frantics:

This was a lot of fun, and the temperature inversion resulted in truly balmy weather on the mountain.  No hat, and sunglasses!

Tim in action!  (He got farther down the hill before falling that I did, but he didn't have a camera to capture my butt-braking technique).
