Wow, Joanna, that is a tough race, way to go!

I used to work at the Mountain Home Inn, which is up on Mt. Tamalpais and practically right on the course. Sometimes after work I'd go run on the trails. I don't think I ever even considered doing that race, it's brutal!

Write it down, make it public, and prepare to get sh*t for it until you make it happen.
Top 3 Mount Hood Scramble.

Alright so I failed in my attempt at my only (publicly stated grin.png ) goal for the year. But the best thing is I don't really care! Once I decided to do the Pine hollow tri I pretty much new the top 3 ship was sailing. And with how my racing has been the last few outings I was glad to have it take the pressure off of accomplishing anything at MHS. Add to that hanging out until who knows when (I certainly didn't!) at the scramble camp out and I figured top 10 was out of the picture. Suprisingly though there was a point pretty late in the race today where I still thought I had a shot. Had I focused entirely on the scramble perhaps I would have been able to reach my goal. But like I said I don't really care because I had just as much fun scrambling the scramble as I would have anyway. (hands-down highlight of my racing calendar again) What's more is that I also got to do the Tri and camp out, each of which would have been great highlights themselves on any other weekend. thumbsup.png

But now onward and upward in pursuit of the next one... frantics.gif

You've gotta respect a bold publicly-stated goal like that!

Or these:

1. Go on a date with Clover

2. Run a sub-2:50 marathon

3. Get my own "action figure"

4. Get a haircut

I just can't believe I accomplished all that before August smile.png

Well, I spoke too soon, my barber's on vacation this week. So I'll be looking like this a while longer:

I just want to let everyone know I have completed my highly ambitious running goal for 2007:
I have reached the 1000 post milestone on the TRL forums.

I'd like to thank everyone on this forum for helping me achieve this lofty goal, especially Kritter and DalGirl for starting the PHM thread. As they say, "Goals are dreams with deadlines" and today I reached my dream over three months ahead of the deadline.

Geez, someone had to go and ask...

Well, I've not given much thought to goals for next year, but how about this?

April, 1/2 marathon = sub 1:20 long gone
June, marathon = sub 2:45 just last October
July, 5k = sub 17:00
July, 15k = 54:00 last year was mid 54
September, 10k = sub 35:00
September, 1 mile = sub 5:00 This should pose no problem, I just need to time one.
October, marathon = sub 2:40
October, 1/2 marathon = 1:16 just yesterday

That's it for a vague, rough outline happy.png

Yikes! Two years later and I've still got some outstanding. I certainly do suck at this endeavor...
