Spring must be around the corner, because registration for Shamrock 2009 is now open. fear.png Sure, you could run the 5k or the 8k, but who's running THE PORTLAND CLASSIC - the 15k? As Abraham Lincoln used to say: "Go big, or go home -- lying in your bed, while crying to yourself in the fetal position."

I won't go big or fetal. Instead, I'll have some 5K. My knee doesn't care for any kind of incline and Terwilliger Blvd has plenty of incline. baby.gif baby.gif baby.gif

P.S. But I'll wait until the day before the race to sign up.
There once was a man named Stinky Stick,
Who didn’t have the sense of a common tick.
He lived in an old barn,
And was happy to charm,
And tell a big yarn,
But still was just a stupid dumb hick.

I'm going to wait until a little closer to the race to decide but I am thinking of doubling up again in the 5-k and 8-k.

Albert, are you running?

I am going to run with my Saturday long run training group. We are running it as a training run for Eugene, so I guess we're doing the 15k.
Dear runners: come to a group run, say hi to us at a race, or just post on the message board!

Check out our group run, race calendars, and news on local running on the RunOregon Blog by me, Joe Dudman, Jim Mattern, Marianne Jones, Marya Van Metre, Jen Sotolongo, and Jonathan Marcus.

Are you asking in general, or specifically this race? Either way, fortunately (or unfortunately?), the answer is yes.

I'm hoping to make a respectable showing in the 5k.

15K though the effort level involved during the race is up for debate :-)

I'm in for the 15K. Who wants to join my foursome to get the discount?

"15 K", though what he also doesn't mention is that he'll be running with a cell phone so that if i can let him know if he has to divert off the course to the L&D dept at the hospital. Luckily, it's not that far to run to Good Sam from there :-)

Lincoln was a wise man! I'm planning to hit up the 15k, but I'll wait on registering so I can get a good price and skip the giant cotton long-sleeve shirt. And I'm pretty sure BeccaD is pregnant happy.png

It's a simple question of weight ratios

Are you waiting until day of race? Day of race registrants last year didn't get a timing chip. Just in case stuff like that matters - it matters to me, so I was pretty annoyed last year.
