Please come and help us if you can, add this to your calendar now! It may not solve the problem but it will make a huge difference.

PRC Waterfront Litter Clean Up Day:

WHAT: PRC Litter Clean Up

WHEN: Saturday, March 5, 11a

WHERE: Meet on the west end of the Steel Bridge - Look for the PRC arch up and a few PRC Tents.

WHY: Make a difference on the path we all use and to keep our city looking beautiful!

HOW: SOLVE and Portland Parks are donating trash bags, gloves and 20 trash pickers. We will have dumpsters and Portland Parks will drive the waterfront and collect bags full of trash. SOLVE/PP will give a 10 minute instructional at 11a that day regarding how to pick up needles etc.

Let’s ask everyone to bring their own water bottle (avoid more trash) we will put out a couple water jugs for folks to use.

Would love to get as many people out to help for a couple of hours as possible, thanks for sharing, helping and making a difference.

This event has been canceled.  Likely too dangerous with all the needles etc. now littered everywhere.  Hopefully parks services can find the manpower to help make Portland clean again.

This is such a sad statement about what was once our lovely Waterfront Park.  It really has spiraled out of control.

I wish there was an easy solution - but I have no suggestions.
