The Bigfoot 10K is Sunday, September 21 in Bend.

This is a really fun downhill screamer along Century Drive. Come delude yourself that you can run this fast on a flat course. Set a benchmark for the fall!

There is also an opportunity the same weekend for a top flight theatre experience in Bend. Innovation Theatre Works, a new professional theatre company in Bend, opens their first show on September 20. They are doing Driving Miss Daisy, a Pulitzer Prize winner (and later made into a film). Tickets are somewhat expensive ($45), but I may be able to swing a group deal. I have met the woman who founded the theatre and am confident the show will be as good as anything you would see anywhere.

Could be fun to head down for the weekend and catch both of these events (and other fun). Maybe do a trail run somwhere Saturday. Or bike / roller ski.

I know of a cheap place to stay - a condo just north of downtown. It's $75 a night and can fit 4-6.

I love these type of indoor/outdoor "Only in Oregon" weekends.

EXCELLENT cool.gif

Put me down as a yes! on all of the above.

I'm running out of USATF races and have to hit
all that are left on the schedule if I want to make $25.00 again.

I have a hotel booked for Saturday night but would be happy to give it up to stay with the group if you need bodies to fill the house. I will likely drive down on Saturday and welcome any carpoolers.

The 2 Terris' are thinking about this. I'll need to see about Sebastian staying with my Mom. We wouldn't leave until Saturday after our morning run. (got to keep the mileage up)
"Mommy, are you sweaty?" - Sebastian Terris
"Did you win a medal?" - Sebastian Terris, after my recent training run (not race)
"We need to buy a new cat, this one scratches me" - Sebastian

If this running thing starts to feel to easy, you are probably doing it wrong.

I had a very good time!
My first Bigfoot 10k.

Chad Kilial (sp) was the overall winner
Susan was first female
Chuck took 4th overall 2nd masters
Win got a ribbon for I think 2nd in his age group.
Shannon got a new 10k PR by a lot. And an age group ribbon.
Eileen Holzman was there also ran ran very well.
Met a perspective new Lizard also.

For just doing--AND SURVIVING--my first trialthon the day before,
my 48:00 minute 10k felt easy and fun.

Win, thanks for the great digs. The batch of us
had a nice dinner Saturday night, and a big lunch after the race.

The weather was perfect!

Killian? Young Chad, the speedy prancing Lizard?

A lizard sweep sounds sweet.

yes, young Chad Killian!
Chad has moved into a commanding USATF standings, 2nd place,
behind a John Lucas.
Supposedly, the USATF speadsheet will be posted soon
but the points are current through the Crawfish Crawl.

BTW: Torrey, Wendy T--Bob Latham gave me your
awards/plaques for winning the Grand Prix last year.
Better late than never I guess.
Torrey, I'll give you yours at Fulton and Wendy's on Saturday.

1:26 PR for my 10K.
This was also the first race where I was not passed by anyone (aside from the mad shuffle at the start of the race).

Just thought I'd let you know that the "perspective" new lizard joined today. I'll have to say that running into the group at the Bigfoot 10K sealed the deal for me. I'm looking forward to meeting more lizards at upcoming running events. Dave
