Oct. 20--RACE, Fernhill
Oct 27--Pier Park, 9 am
Nov.3--RACE, Pier Park
Nov 11--RACE, Seattle
Nov 17--TBD

I know it’s in Vancouver, but you really ought to consider the Ft. Vancouver area. The U.S. National Cross Country Championships were held there a couple times. There is an expansive grassy area that could easily accommodate a 2000m+ loop. Plenty of parking. Easily runnable with good inclines & declines.

THE OLDER I GET, THE BETTER I WAS.

PROUD TO BE A PAFAR!

It is indeed a good location and accessible enough on a Saturday. (Easier than Pier Park for most of us.) That said, we have four courses to preview in five weeks, and I want to do Sellwood on the extra week. Also, IIRC, we discussed this last year and didn't do it because Fort Vancouver is a National Park, and might need special permission.

Rick - this is exciting! Does the 9am start time mean 9am already warmed up?

I don't think I can make the first week but will plan on the other Saturdays!

Thanks Rick! Been looking forward to This for some time now. This topic might be worth a Facebook post on the team page. Maybe even a calendar event? Also, I'm in for Sept 8th.

We had near perfect conditions at Fernhill. However, only the most hardcore xc enthusiasts came for the first Saturday session. Hopefully we can get a better turnout at Sellwood.

Hi Rick, what will the workout be like this week? A continuous fartlek type of thing? I'm pretty early in my season, and so I'm trying to gauge how well this will fit in with my training.

2010 mileage: 2929
2009 mileage: 2875
2008 mileage: 2436.5

These will be tempo repeats on a slightly longer than 2K loop, with a break midway through, and recoveries of 0.3 or so between loops. Effort is up to you. Sorry to be slow seeing this and replying.
