Looks like Linda and I posted simultaneously. I'm going to be at Niketown tonight. If anyone needs assistance with the dropoff, leave your stuff with me and I'll get it to Blanchet House by Tuesday evening.

I got a nice haul from the Niketown run last night. One woman in particular brought a bag of great stuff. Will be delivering tonight.

Time to spread the Aloha!

The deer has been released. Or the circle has been squared. Or whatever the right term is.

I dropped off my box.

Hey, I'm meeting Zoet and will delivering his deer, or releasing his salmon (ooh, that does NOT sound right), or whatever tomorrow evening.

Wow. It's been a while since I've been down to Blanchet in the mornings. I lived downtown and used to show up there and help out with breakfast occasionally. I forgot how humbling and rewarding it can be to to meet people at that place going through the simple act of making, serving, and eating a meal together.

I went today to drop off Brett's gifts for Pat. Intended to go last night, but got a touch of the flu and was pretty much immobilized until this morning. I thought I'd make a dash down from Mult Village while they are serving breakfast this morning and drop the gifts and get home. That' pretty much what I did except for being greeted by Jeff and one of Merrill's running partners at the door. They opened the office and let me leave the gifts. Then I was leaving Jeff made a point of saying, "Hey, let everybody know that we are really thankful for this. I got some toiletries and I'm very happy. And some of these guys, what came from you all was there whole Christmas."

After that some chatting about the First Run and then I headed home.

Good on you, Lizards. And especially, thank you, Linda. A couple of emails, some timely well-placed encouragement, a few posts and some phone calls and you've orchestrated a wonderful thing. Two wonderful things. One is making it happen that a group of men are shown some human kindness and good will in this season of short days and long nights and the other wonderful thing is opening the door for all of us to connect, to give something.

Aloha!
