Although I can't man an aid station on Saturday due to a wedding I'm going to, I plan to RUN this event on Sunday. Anyone want to join me? IBS, Sandbag Sanders, Rizzo, Buehler?

THE OLDER I GET, THE BETTER I WAS.

PROUD TO BE A PAFAR!

I think the three of us are out of phase with the marathon clinic's runs. Kind of sucks. I think we're doing a "short" run this weekend.

yea, we're out of sync otherwise it would be great. however, we did get to take advantage of the bridge pedal using the course last weekend.

THANK you guys so much for being out there today! It was great to see familiar faces at the aid stations during that long hot run. And because I was wearing my TRL shirt I got to talk up the Lizards along the way! grin.png The sponges in particular were VERY well received.

Does this mean Lizards are sponge-worthy?

It was fun being out there to help you guys along. And you guys were all moving pretty quick, so it didn't take nearly as long as I thought it was going to.

Best aid station worker: John! He had Krispy Kreme donuts for us at the first aid station, then at the aid station after the bridge, he was firing up the barbie and had grape soda.

My man, I wanted those burgers at mile 20!!

Anyone up for a 20+ run the weekend after Labor day? I am thinking 23 or 24 miles.

Great job everyone! Patti Finke put in a nice plug for the Lizards, thanking us for all the aid station work, as she barked orders at the massed runners downtown at 8 am.

It was definitely a different perspective to work the aid stations on Saturday and then run all 20 miles on Sunday. We had several Lizards on Sunday come out to run and some just dropped by to be social!

We own that course! happy.png

Yeah, I dropped by John's aid station after running Leif. I had three hamburgers, tortilla chips and a Krispy Kreme doughnut. Hadn't had one of those in a couple years. He also had ibuproferen, and the grape soda. Anyway, next year we should try to get him to join us with manning the aid station.

You're looking at September 9th or 10th correct? According to my plan, this should be my last long run before the taper. Going to 23 or 24 would be nice. Let's get Jefferey and Tim on board and we'll have 80% of yesterday's group. We also need to figure out a route.

Special recognition for Paul who actually dared taking a bite of donut at the aid station.
Too bad a got to the the burger spot before they were ready I'm sure that would have helped me at the end of this 20M fartlek blink.gif grin.png

tober ... are you Kristof?

Yep, I made sure John had at least one donut with a bite taken out of it.

Yes I am thinking the 9th or 10th. And seriously, if you want that 15 mile tempo run, email Tim. He'll run it with you and others over LD weekend. I suggest the Sauvie Island loop at 6:50 pace, given all of y'all goals.
