July 8th Run with the Dogs: Itís a great way to help exercise and socialize shelter dogs, look for a new pet or just get your dog fix while enjoying a group run/walk.

Please note: all dogs are currently available for adoption through Multnomah County Animal Services and are not guaranteed to be at the outreach. For more information on adopting or fostering go to: http://www.co.multno...r.us/dbcs/pets/

Pamela is a bit older (7-10 years) but not over the hill quite yet. She has the calmness and maturity of an older dog which fits well into a mellower household or one that hasn't time to raise and train a younger dog. Senior animals can be just as rewarding and loving as their younger kin, kinda like us when you think about it. Pamela lvoes to get out for walks and is very sweet! Pamela recently enjoyed a full body massage and not only went to sleep, but the massage therapist noted that she was seemingly in good physical shape. What a great dog!! Pamela would prefer a power walk on Saturday.

Hanna is a sweet gentle girl. She doesn't jump on people, knows sit and loves attention. She is an all around great family dog and a good running partner.

Wizard is a brown and black male German Shepherd Dog mix. He is approximately 3 years old. He weighs about 70 lbs. He has been neutered. Wizard will sit for treats & takes the treats very gently. When he see's a dog in the other play yard he play bows so we have high hopes he will like other dogs. We think he is a very nice boy. Due to his size and strength we ask children be 13 years and older. He must have a fenced yard with at least 6 foot fence no exception. Further obedience classes are highly recommended. Wizard has been at the shelter for some time, due tohis lack of fitness he'd would prefer a low key run on Saturday (we've all been there).

Tulip is calm and sweet. She has what seems to be an old injury on her right front leg that causes her to limp. A calmer more sedate household would probably suit her best. She'd make a great companion in a senior or disabled household. Tulip is a lap dog along for the lovin.

Mcas named this lovely gal Hazel, who is a female German Shepherd mix. She weighs about 37 lbs. She will be spayed before going to her new home, which should have a nice fenced area for her to play in. Children 13 and older for this sensitive girl pleaser. She likes quiet time of her own to check you out and become comfortable with a new family. Hazel is very gentle natured and calm. She knows "sit", "down", and "shake"-she is very good with adults but is particular about her dog friends--She is a very smart girl and will reward you with wonderful companionship for years to come! Yes, her ears are really that big! Hazel has an athletic build and would likely make a fine running or walking companion.

Calvin named by us is an outgoing boy with a good heart. He is ready right now for obedience training & he especailly needs ongoing socialization with other dogs, cats & people to make him a good dog citizen. Calvin is a 50 lb cuddle bug lap dog wanna be. Pit Bulls seem to fall into the sprinter catagory. He loves to run but will likely wear out quicker then others (again, we've all been there).

Baby acts just like a big baby. She wants attention from people all the time and is very friendly, happy and playful. She'll be a real sweetheart in her new home. Baby is about 15 months old and weights in at 77 lbs. She may go 90 lbs. Due to her young age and size Baby will be game for a shorter jaunt.

Photo order: Pam, Hanah, Wizard, Hazel, Tulip, Calvin, Baby

Great job Angela!

I appreciate the time and effort you put into listing photos and bios of the dogs every month.

How did it go last Sat? I hope to make it to the next dog run.

We had a great group of Lizards out for the run on Saturday. As always, thanks for coming out everyone!

The dog that Coop ran with got adopted that day.

A couple others got foster families to go home with.

And someone came into the shelter asking specifically for that cute little rotty pup, since they had seen her out at the run and outreach event.

Good job, Lizards! This is a great community service (plus, it's pretty fun to take the doggies out and have an excuse to hang out, chat and eat bagels happy.png ). Let's keep it up!
